Friday Favorites 2.9 – Fitness Guru

Hi friends! Happy Friday! How was your week? I hope you have a great day! Our approach is pretty low-key. The pilots fly at night, the girls do all the usual activities, and I’ve been here working on blog content, client calls, and podcast interviews. We have an event this weekend that I’m looking forward to, and I’m still looking for a dress. If you wait until the last minute, it only takes one minute. 😉

(My favorite Sakara goji rose donut)

In addition to activities, I teach barre, do some fitness programming, and today is a movie night at the kids’ school.

Our favorite weekly Friday party is here! Here I’m sharing some of my favorite finds from this week and around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so shout out your favorites in the comments section below.

Friday Favorites 2.9

Life:

We attended the annual Fighter Wing Awards Dinner in Phoenix and it was a blast as usual. It was great to see friends we haven’t spoken to in a long time and also celebrate some hardworking and inspiring squadron members.

It’s hard to believe this was the last time the pilot wore dirty clothes. This time next year, he will be retired! To be honest, I’m ready for it, but I can tell it’s going to be bittersweet for him. His military career has long been an important part of his identity and I know he will miss it.

I’m definitely looking forward to more stability and getting back into the airline industry, but I’ll definitely miss seeing him in his dirty clothes and flight suit. 🙂

(The dress is from RTR. Not my favorite dress I’ve ever rented, but all my top picks are gone. It was ok for the occasion.)

Since we were in Phoenix, the kids asked to go on the Camelback Hike. This is probably their favorite hike, which doesn’t surprise me at all.

They were crawling and jumping around while I feared for everyone’s lives. It’s a great time, I tell you 😉

The first climb is pretty intense – you can hold on to the guard rails because it’s so steep and high –

But after that, the intensity drops off a bit. It was an incredible view and the weather was perfect.

We also tried the Original Chop Shop for the first time and it was great. I got my girlfriend’s hummus and veggie wrap (with chicken) and we will definitely be back.

High performance health. This will be my first certification in 2024 and I’m excited to dive into this one. The theme of HPH is longevity and biohacking, so I’m excited to use this information for intermediate and advanced clients to get the most out of their daily lives and manage their daily habits very strategically. I’ll be sharing more along the way! If you’d like to be my study partner, you can check it out here and enter the code FITNESSISTA to get $100 off.

Fashion + Beauty:

New Beautycounter body butter. I’m waiting for mine to arrive and can’t wait to try it. I love a body moisturizer with clean ingredients, especially in the cold winter months, and this one has a lovely Monoi scent. Check it out here.

Order this dress in the spring. It looks like a nap dress but is less than half the price!

Also add it to cart. I’m really into casual suits right now.

Read, watch, listen:

Be sure to check out this week’s podcast interview. We are talking about seed oil.

What are your simple joys?

Currently enjoying this audiobook. Lots of helpful advice and encouragement to turn more to investing.

Fitness + Food:

You have to try these homemade peanut butter protein bars.

More reasons to practice self-compassion.

Gf Oat Flour Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Happy Friday, friends! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you soon.

XOXO
