Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies Recipe

If you’re a crunchy mom, you probably already know that apple cider vinegar is great for you. Drinking water every day (or several times a day) gets old after a while. These apple cider vinegar gummies are a delicious way to get your daily dose and reap the health benefits of apple cider vinegar!

Delicious ACV Gummies

When you think of delicious gummies, apple cider vinegar is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. While I’ve made delicious orange gummies and berry probiotic gummies before, I’ve also made some weirder gummies like activated charcoal gummies. Not only does vinegar have some impressive health benefits, but it also adds a delicious sweet and sour flavor to this version. I also added some raw honey and juice to balance the flavor better.

Apple cider vinegar gummies have become increasingly popular in recent years, and you can even find them in big box stores. They promise to be gluten-free, non-GMO, and have added vitamins like folic acid. However, many foods are also high in total sugar due to ingredients like tapioca syrup and cane sugar. Gummies containing processed sugar are a great way to prevent tooth decay, especially if they become part of your daily routine!

Homemade apple cider vinegar gummies are a great way to get the benefits of apple cider vinegar without the unnecessary ingredients.

Apple cider vinegar benefits

It has become very popular in recent years, but what are the benefits of apple cider vinegar? ACV (as it’s more affectionately called) is basically acetic acid. While I use distilled white vinegar for cleaning, I prefer apple cider vinegar for food and supplements. You can read about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar here, but here’s a recap:

  • heart health – Animal studies show apple cider vinegar can enhance calcium absorption. This helps the calcium get to where it’s supposed to go instead of collecting in the arteries. It also helps lower systolic blood pressure.
  • cancer – While drinking apple cider vinegar every day won’t cure cancer, it does have some benefits. Several studies have examined the role of apple cider vinegar in the prevention and treatment of leukemia and colon cancer. Vinegar helps tumor growth and stimulates natural killer cell activity. It is important to note that these were in vitro and animal studies, so more research is needed. Apple cider vinegar is also rich in antioxidants, which help fight free radical damage.
  • blood sugar level – In studies, pairing vinegar with a carbohydrate-rich diet helped lower glycemic load. Apple cider vinegar may also help people feel fuller after meals. We do have several human studies in this area linking apple cider vinegar to improved health benefits.
  • lose weight – Researchers looked at body weight, body mass index, fat around organs, waist circumference and blood triglyceride levels in both groups. The group given apple cider vinegar had much better laboratory data than the placebo group. Multiple studies show that apple cider vinegar can help with weight management and reduce appetite.
  • End of glycation – Also known as advanced glycation end products, these harmful compounds can cause disease and inflammation. They are formed when proteins and fats combine with sugar in the blood. Fruit vinegar is rich in polyphenols and is a good source of AGE inhibitors. People with higher blood sugar produce more AGEs, and apple cider vinegar can also help lower blood sugar.

Other Apple Cider Vinegar Health Benefits

Here are a few ways apple cider vinegar has been shown to help improve your health.

  • Reduce inflammation in animal studies
  • Helps reduce kidney stones
  • Improve energy levels by improving overall health
  • Contains beneficial bacteria for intestinal health and helps improve immune function

Drinking vinegar water every day can wear down your enamel. That’s why it’s important to consume it with enamel-forming foods like gelatin. Gelatin is also great for gut health and improving your immune system. I also focus on healthy fats, bone broth, and grass-fed animal products to get nutrients for enamel growth.

How to Make Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

Gelatin makes these gels hard. Make sure you are using gelatin and not collagen peptides or you will end up with liquid. Some vegetarian-friendly recipes call for pectin or agar-agar, but I haven’t tried these.

I also added some fruit juice to it to help mellow out the flavor of the apple cider vinegar. To enhance the natural apple flavor, use apple juice or cider. The batch I made for the photos used pomegranate juice and it was delicious too!

If you are using a less sweet juice, add some honey. I find 1/4 cup is perfect, but if you like it sweeter you can use 1/3 cup and reduce the juice by 1 tablespoon.
