One week of exercise – fitness expert

Share how I organize my weekly exercise routine.

Hi! Are you OK? I hope you had a great morning! We are at Disneyland today and I can’t wait to ride all the rides, eat Disney food, and enjoy some fun memories with some of my favorite people.

While I won’t be doing any “official” workouts this week, I will definitely be walking 20,000 steps a day (minus the long drive home). In today’s post, I want to share how I’ve been exercising lately and how I structure my week.

Sports week.

It varies each week, but here are some I like to include:

3 strength classes – I mix between F45, Pure Barre Definition (my favorite right now!), and Fit Team strength training (low impact modification)

1-2 hot yoga or barre classes (I teach barre classes every other week and do about 80% of my workouts in class)

1-2 cardio days on Peloton and/or Sculpt Society (this link lets you try the app for free!)

Rest for 1-2 days

a week of exercise

A week might look like this:

Sunday: Closed

Monday: Hot yoga or power yoga

Tuesday: F45 Full Body or Fit Team Full Body

Wednesday: Main Team or Sculpture Society

Thursday: F45 leg or Fit Team leg

Friday: Barre (Define or Classic), or Pilates

Saturday: Hiking, sculpture association or rest

I also walk in Maisey daily (usually 1-2 miles in the neighborhood) or on the walking mat during meetings

You may notice that this isn’t a lot of cardio, nor is it a lot of interval training. I finally feel like I can push myself through cardio again. Aerobic exercise releases histamine – which is a trigger in my eyes – which can also deplete your energy further when you have autoimmune symptoms. Last year I noticed that I couldn’t push myself like I used to because I would be sore and exhausted for days on end. I also got sick twice after very hard workouts, which is unusual for me.

This schedule allows me to stay active without going overboard. It works for me now 🙂

I’d love to hear how you plan your week of exercise!
